Ray Rickman spoke about "Adopt a Doctor" http://www.adoptadoctor.org/ He described the origin of the foundation. The object of the foundation is to keep doctors in their native countries by supplementing their income.
Virginia Paine reminded us that the Fall meeting is usually when the group nominates projects and organizations for a donation from our funds. She enumerated UNICEF, Salamatu, and the Malawi sewing project as examples of our usual recipients. Nanci Smith described a project in the interior of Cameroon of a small tribe.
Virginia announced that her term as interim group leader has concluded. Barbara Fontaine will act as group leader while the group seeks another GL. The group will need to replace Barbara as treasurer if Barbara stays on as GL.
